Back into thesis finalized designs

This is my model sheets for the main characters of my thesis. I enjoyed making these, it's the first model sheets I've ever drawn 100% digital and colored. Usually I just draw them on paper. There's 2 more model sheets to finish that are under way.

New Thesis Concept Art Layout

This is my newest Layout painting for my first big background at the beginning of my thesis. I only has 2 versions, this being the second. Compared to the first, its much simpler and shows the character's destination much better, (notice the cave looking forest area towards the horizon)

The Castle's location has been changed too, but I tried not to make it the main focus of the background. Haha, am kinda used to doing that with tones, but I first sketched it in tones so I guess that helped with the composition. So I tried to guide the focus from Yuri in the foreground, to Nee in front of him, then to either the forest cave or the castle. I'm curious of people's reactions to where their eyes look 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc... This'll help me fix things.

1st town and forest entrance design layout for thesis.

This is my 1st sketch for the beginning of the film, it will be just to show that the character is part of a community but at the same time I wont have to show it throughout the whole film because the idea will be stated at the beginning. The character actually lives in the outskirts of the town, but this will show how much nature means to the people in this place and why they protect it. The place the town's knights protect is almost like a sacred grove.

The person you see in the foreground is the main character. I like this design by the way, because it has a cinematic feel, which is what I like to make in my sketches.

Thesis Character Sketches

This is my thesis character that am developing. Some small changes have been made to his shoulder armor in more recent drawings though, but this is his color scheme. The bottom model sheet has also udergone some changes in the hands, it will not have armor in the final product because am removing any uneeded details to ease my animating time. This film has to be made in 8 months so amount of detail is something to consider when designing for aniumation. Also because its a one person project. But I want to take it to another level this year.

This is my first blogger, Didn't like how WordPress was so I left it. Hope to bring many interesting things here and become part of the community.
